Selling a Home During Divorce
When a sale needs two people to agree, most of the friction comes from one of them feeling less informed than the other.
So everything goes to both of you at the same time and in writing. Pricing rationale, showing feedback, every offer, every counter. I do not pass messages between you, and I am not anyone's advocate against the other.
If your attorneys prefer all communication to route through them, that works too. Tell me at the start and I will follow it.

Both of you get the same information
What I can help with, and what I cannot
I handle the sale. Preparing the home, pricing it honestly, marketing it properly, and managing it through closing.
I do not give legal advice, I do not advise on how proceeds should be divided, and I do not interpret a decree. Those belong to your attorneys, and a real estate agent guessing at them causes real harm. If a decree sets a deadline or a minimum price, tell me and I will work to it.
The house is one decision among many
You are likely making a lot of decisions right now, and this is one of them. It does not have to be rushed, and it does not have to be dramatic.
If it is useful, I can tell you what the home is realistically worth today and what a sale would likely net, with no expectation that you do anything about it. Some people need that number to have a conversation. Getting it does not commit you to a listing.
Questions
- Can you work with both of us?
- Yes. Both parties get identical information at the same time, in writing, and I do not take a side. If your attorneys would rather everything route through them, that works as well.
- What if we disagree about the price?
- I give you both the same analysis and the same reasoning, so you are disagreeing about a decision rather than about facts. Where a decree or a court order governs the price, that governs, and your attorneys advise on it, not me.
- Do we have to sell?
- That is a legal and financial question for your attorneys. What I can give you is an accurate picture of what the home is worth now and what a sale would likely net, so whatever you decide is decided with real numbers.
